We must, we can and we will solve the climate crisis.
Join the millions using their voices and everyday choices to tackle the climate crisis.
Meet the Atlanta Chapter!
The Atlanta Chapter of the Climate Reality Project was formed in October 2018, consisting of roughly ten members who met at the August 2018 training in Los Angeles. During the training, realizing that Atlanta was one of the few major cities in the US without a Climate Reality Project chapter, we took it upon ourselves to form the inaugural team. Within a few short months, our team has more than tripled in size and we are drafting numerous initiatives and campaigns to tackle following the Atlanta Training.
The Atlanta Chapter has already demonstrated an incredible passion for taking meaningful steps towards combating climate change through our diverse passions and members. Co-chairs Kerri and Jairo lead us in our work to increase awareness and mitigation of climate change while ensuring equity and opportunity for all. We welcome any new members to join us in our mission to mobilize community members to take action on climate change!

OUR MISSION IS TO CATALYZE A GLOBAL SOLUTION TO THE CLIMATE CRISIS BY MAKING URGENT ACTION A NECESSITY ACROSS EVERY LEVEL OF SOCIETY.
The Earth is facing a climate crisis, driven by fossil fuels.
At Climate Reality, we’re here to make urgent action a necessity. In politics. In business. In every aspect of our lives. Everywhere.
Urgent action to cut greenhouse gas emissions and speed the global shift to renewables. Urgent action to halt the Trump Administration’s radical fossil fuel agenda. Urgent action to make world leaders strengthen and honor their Paris Agreement commitments.
Led by former US Vice President Al Gore and CEO and President Ken Berlin, we do it by empowering everyday people to become activists, equipped with the tools, training, and network to fight for solutions and drive change planet-wide.
The result is over 17,000 Climate Reality Leaders mobilizing communities in over 150 countries. Branches in 10 critical nations and regions around the Earth. Over 80 activists chapters (and growing) pushing for practical clean energy policies across the US.
Together, they add up to a powerful movement growing by the day. One by the people. Of the people. For the planet. Join us.
The logistical and cultural home of the American civil rights movement, Atlanta has a long and proud history of inspiring transformative change. In the heart of the Southeastern US, Atlanta has seen the reality of climate change firsthand. Already, the region has witnessed the crisis strain water resources with droughts threatening to become longer and more common. Temperatures are rising in Southeastern cities, threatening the health and quality of life of urban residents, especially vulnerable populations. Even worse, these impacts strike low-income families and communities of color hardest of all, inflicting a disproportionate health and economic burden on those least responsible for this crisis.
At the same time, the Southeast offers tremendous reason for hope. Georgia, for example, has huge solar potential. With the right programs, developing clean energy in the state can not only help cut costs and pollution for all families, but also create significant new jobs and help push back against legacies of persistent poverty and exclusion in frontline communities. Meanwhile, with its “Resilient Atlanta: Actions to Ensure an Equitable Future” strategy and recent recognition as a Bloomberg American Cities Climate Challenge winner, Atlanta is poised to become a true climate leader.
The Climate Reality Project is committed to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive climate movement. Climate Reality Leadership Corps trainings seek to follow and further the Jemez Principles for Democratic Organizing and the Principles for Environmental Justice.
